Revolutionary breakthrough features on BBC Midlands Today
Automotive industry manufacturer and specialist supplier Concept Mouldings featured on BBC Midlands Today for its revolutionary Endura Frontal Protection System (www.endura-fps.co.uk), which can make many vehicles safer in the unfortunate event of front-end collisions with pedestrians and cyclists. The feature which aired on Thursday 3rd August 2006, highlighted the many benefits of the revolutionary product, including the ability to make 4x4s up to 50 times safer in the event of a front-end collision with a child.
Benchmark tests carried out at MIRA (one of Europe’s leading vehicle design, development and certification centres) have proven that with a Frontal Protection System (FPS) fitted, the risk of head injury reduces from over 99% in the worst case down to less than 2%. Children typically incur head injuries from the front of vehicles and these often prove to be fatal. Injuries to the abdomen, upper leg and lower leg are also substantially reduced and comparative testing results are available at http://www.frontalprotectionsystems.eu/video/testing_safety.php.
In May 2007, a mandatory requirement on all Frontal Protection Systems (FPS) will come into force meaning none EC approved FPS such as Bull Bars and Nudge Bars will be outlawed by EEC regulations. Testing shows that the Endura FPS not only exceeds all EU requirements but is the first FPS to comply with the EU regulations.
The Managing Director of automotive engineering solutions supplier Concept Mouldings, (www.conceptmouldings.co.uk) Ian Finney, was presented with the Entrepreneur of the Year award at the Black Country Chamber’s Business championships in June 2006. The award is based on the ground-breaking work the company has undertaken in the important area of pedestrian safety.
“The ‘EC’ approved Endura FPS will have no geographic boundaries and will create the benchmark for product safety and styling within the global accessory market” said Ian Finney, Managing Director, Concept Mouldings.
